Cat Ov-air-ies

After school yesterday, Tysen excitedly tells me that they are getting ready to disect "things" in Science class.  He said they will get to disect frogs and a myrad of other things of which I did not hear because I started gagging and tuned out everything after frogs. So the discussion continues, and he tells me they also got to look at cat ovaries (pronounced ov-air-ies by him ;) under the microscope during class.

Let me just insert here, that of all things to show a sixth grade class....ovaries, really?  He goes on and on about how "cool" it was to check out the ov-air-ies, what they looked like, etc.... So I asked him if he knew what "ovaries" (pronounced the normal way) were, and he of course had "deer in the headlights" look, "um, no what are they?"  I took him back to this time about a year ago when we had the 'how babies are made/sex/puberty talk' which is always so much fun to re-visit.  I explained to him that ovaries are where a female cat/human's eggs are stored until they are needed to make a baby.  His reaction, "UGGHHGH  I was looking at Cat Eggs???!?!?!%$@#?"  Funny....I thought ov-air-ies were "cool"!
