Monster with a capital M
*sigh*
It's official: we have "that" child. We have been blessed with two wonderful/well behaved/never-act-up-in-public/well mannered boys. They are not perfect by any means, but I have never hesitated or worried that they may act up in a restaurant or store. Then there is Mia. Let me preface this by saying she is wonderful whenever we go out, she has followed right along in her big brothers' footsteps.....until tonight. Tonight we went out to dinner for a family Valentine's Day since Jamie will be working late tomorrow. Asakusa and yummy sushi here we come! I had visions of sitting down to a nice dinner with Jimmy and the kids, giving them their V-day goodies and having good conversation. Mia however had visions of her own, which included but were not limited to: swiping everything within reach forcefully to the floor, screeching as though she was being pinched, not eating a thing and straight up panicking when the rice stuck to her fingers....in other words being a MoNsTeR!!!! Never before (luckily) have I been faced with the decision to a) let my child continue as she was and disrupt everyone b) take her to the car because she was driving us nuts, and miss out on yummo dinner or c) send Jamie to the car with her and selfishly enjoy my dinner....quietly. We decided we were staying, she was not going to win, and we would try to enjoy dinner as best as we could. (Not so much turns out) As soon as dinner was over and we got to the car, guess who was happy as a clam? Mimi, it's a good thing you are so stinking cute....because you make me BoNKerS!!
Oh how this story is oh so familiar. Monster with a capital Mason is what we call him here. Its not even worth going out to eat for us right now. This phase better be almost over!!!
