Tysen started "home-ec" class this week, or whatever politically correct version they now offer, we'll just stick with home-ec. He actually loves to work in the kitchen at home, so I figured he would really like this class. I picked him up from school today and he proceded to tell me about his day, and how he finished with his sewing work early. His teacher (bless her) told Tysen and two of his friends they could pick out a recipe and bake something. A pie. She lets them tackle a pie on their first turn in the kitchen! Apparently their first attempt at baking a pie crust from scratch, did not go according to plan-or recipe. As if it's no big deal, he explains to me how they burnt the pie crust "a little" and the smoke alarms went off, resulting in the whole middle school participating in an impromtu fire drill. Seriously. I called his bluff, thinking this was an early attempt at an April Fools joke....apparently not. Should I call the poor lady and apologize?!?!?
On a side note....I had him put a stamp on a piece of mail as we were running errands, the stamp ended up hanging off the edge of the envelope a smidge. I told him to just push it around the edge, otherwise it would get stuck on another piece of mail and maybe fall off. "Is that what they call blackmail? When the stamp falls off?" - Tysen, dead serious, not even kidding
So, thank you my dearest son for the comedic relief this afternoon. You are truly my kid :)
